IFWP 2006

Voilà la traduction en Français d’un message que j’ai reçu du président de l’IFWP, ( http://www.ifwp.net/ ) dont notre association fait partie. Je vous donne juste l’essentiel en Français, dans l’esprit et dans les grandes lignes. Pour les anglophones l’intégralité plus bas.

1° Le trésorier est à présent Hollandais, ce qui facilitera les choses puisque toute l’équipe exécutive fait partie de la même association. Président (Henkjan Kievit), secrétaire (Marjolijn Lopes Cardozo) et trésorier (David Dansak). Reste à finaliser avec l’ouverture d’un nouveau compte en Hollande. Henkjan propose également de faire quelque chose pour remercier l’ancien trésorier finlandais (Jussi Helimakki).

2° Henkjan voudrait, à l’occasion du prochain congrès de l’IFWP, présenter et discuter un « plan stratégique » pour les 5 années à venir, afin de faire sortir l’IFWP de son immobilisme. Définir les buts de cette période à venir, sur des sujets comme la communication, le site Web, comment stimuler d’autre pays à nous rejoindre etc…etc… ä ce propos, Henkjan nous dit qu’il peut mettre tout ça sur du papier et le présenter en juin 2006, mais qu’il a aussi BESOIN DE NOUS TOUS pour exprimer nos idées et propositions[/size=4]. Il ne faut donc pas le laisser travailler tout seul dans son coin, mais dès maintenant et cela même à titre individuel ne pas hésiter à le contacter pour lui faire part de vos envies et attentes par rapport à l’IFWP.

3° lors du Week-end du 19-20 novembre Henkjan s’est rendu dans deux festivals de photo Le premier en Belgique, le second en France, essentiellement pour rencontrer les membres des diverses associations européennes dont nous faisons partie, ceci pour recueillir des idées, des propositions. C’est à cette occasion que je lui ai proposé vu ma position de membre ASPN et ASCPF de traduire et transmettre aux autres membres non anglophones les informations en provenance de l’IFWP.

4° riche de ces échanges, de vos propositions Henkjan, va ensuite préparer un document à discuter par mail sur les différents développements possibles de l’IFWP. Ceci, je l’espère à toutes les personnes qui auront manifesté un intérêt dans la dynamique qu’il met en place.

5° Miro de l’association Slovaque doit nous donner rapidement les dates du prochain congrès, en principe dans les monts Tatras, je vous le rappelle.

6° Henkjan demande de transmettre ce message à toutes les personnes intéressées et motivées par une participation active dans le cadre de l’IFWP. (c’est fait sur ce forum pour ce qui concerne les francophones), faites connaître ce topic dans votre entourage parmi ceux non encore reliés à internet !!!!!!

Here's a little update about my activities concerning the IFWP. First of all, autumn has started in the Netherlands. Finally, we could say, we had a very long "Indian Summer", but now it has started raining, the evenings are getting longer, so we photographers sit behind our computers, working on our digital material these days!

Besides that it's festival time! This coming weekend I'll be going to Belgium and France. But later more about this.

First some good news: we have got a new treasurer. David Dansak, the "giant" from our club is willing to take this role. Like I discussed with Matti, it is probably a lot easier to have a treasurer from the same country, this makes financial live a lot easier. We will open a new account as soon as possible and then we will arrange the transmittance between the account in Finland to the Dutch one. After that we will send the invoices to all the member associations. I will also come with a proposal to do something for our treasurer from Finland, Jussi Helimakki, to thank him for all the work over the last couple of years.

During the next IFWP meeting in Slovakia I would like to present and discuss a sort of strategic plan for the coming 5? years. This plan will describe goals for the coming period on subjects as communication, the use of the website, new ideas, how to expand the number of countries, all such things. I think that it is very important that thoughts about these subjects come from all the participating countries. Off course I can put some things on paper, but I need your help to develope new ideas, etc. One good example is the Nature photography book of the year competition. I personally think it's a good idea, like we have seen this year again, but if we want to make the competition even better, we need to expand the exposure of it. More communication, better use of internet, international press contacts, etc.

Like I said, I'm going to Belgium and France the coming weekend. The main reason for this trip lies in the fact that it's a great opportunity to meet photographers from many different countries. Here I will start the discussion about the future of the IFWP. I will be talking to people from Switserland, Belgium, Poland, France, The Netherlands, and any other interesting person that will be there and crosses my path.

After that I will start to work out draft versions of the strategic plan and mail it around so we can discuss it and you can all reflect on it. I hope this will lead us to an inspiring and vivid new era of the IFWP! But, like I said, we need your input and reactions on it!

After all these thoughts on an higher abstraction level, one very pragmatic question to Miro: can you tell us more about the definite date of the meeting in Slovakia next year? We all know it's in the second half of June, but many people, including my own secretary at work, start asking about final dates! Another pragmatic thing is to ask you all to forward this mail to the people in your organisation for who it might be interesting, or to discuss it when you have a board- or councilmeeting. And please, tell me if you do so!

Well, so far for now. Don't hesitate to mail me if you got different thoughts, ideas, input for the coming period. Don't save it all for next year!
